The short version
Scriptorum is local-first desktop software. It does not require a Scriptorum account, upload your books to a Scriptorum service, or include behavioral advertising trackers. Scriptorum.net is a product-information and support website; it does not process purchases or host the application.
Desktop application data
Your vaults, planning boards, story information, manuscripts, settings, and exports are stored on your computer in the location you choose. Scriptorum does not operate a cloud service that receives this content. If you place the library in a folder synchronized by another provider, that provider's terms and privacy practices apply to the copy it receives.
Website information
Scriptorum.net does not require an account and does not collect payment information. Cloudflare serves and protects the website and may process limited technical information—such as IP address, browser information, and security events—needed to deliver the site and prevent abuse. At launch, the site does not use advertising trackers or cross-site behavioral profiling.
Steam
Purchases, wishlists, downloads, updates, ownership, and related store activity are handled by Valve through Steam. When you follow a link to Steam, Valve's privacy policy and terms apply. Website links may include campaign parameters that allow Steam to report aggregate visit and conversion attribution.
Support communications
If you email support, we receive the address you use, your message, and any files you choose to attach. That information is used to respond, diagnose the issue, and maintain appropriate support records. Email routing and delivery may involve Cloudflare and Google Workspace.
Sharing and sale of information
We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers only where necessary to operate the website or support channel, or when required by law.
Security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to a lightweight product website and support operation. Support correspondence is retained only as long as it remains useful for resolving issues, maintaining records, or meeting legal obligations.
Changes to this policy
This page will be updated if Scriptorum's services or information practices materially change. The effective date above will change with the policy.
